Easy (IMO) way to mass-backup all your TextAmerica pictures
June 23rd, 2006
As many of you may be aware, TextAmerica.com plans to shut down its free service accounts and wants to hold your pictures hostage. Starting July 1st, you will have to sign up by paying $99/year and they provided no way to retrieve your pictures if you decide to cancel the account.
So being a nice guy, I’ve made a way for you to do that. Check it out here: http://ta.nemik.net

Nice hack!
I’m from moblogUK - interesting fact? The reason I set-up moblogUK with a friend was because I once had a TA account, and then, for some reason I’ve never been able to fathom, they DELETED my account! I was so livid I approached a friend to come and set-up a better, free, creative commons licensed, *responsible* moblogging site - http://www.moblog.co.uk
Another defecting TA user, Defeated, wrote a nifty application which basically grabs all your entries at TA, and then re-publishes them instantly to your new moblogUK account - the software is of course free and way easy to use, and is available here:
http://www.firepile.com/software/
for anyone who would like to move to moblogUK for free moblog hosting that will *never* be deleted.

Your design is too nice for you to be posting these entries that can all be summed up as boring ass trash. Where’s the talk about daily life, the struggles, sacrifices and joys and highs and lows of it? Or the insights into life? Where is the humor? Instead I see lengthy posts about SMS and LUGs.

Thanks, thanks, and thanks again mate. You are a good man. Didn’t want 545 pictures to be lost, and you saved the day.
And thanks again.
